Job Description

About the role

  • The Junior Attorney will support Anza’s Legal Department by handling core legal workstreams and providing day-to-day legal review that enables senior legal leadership to focus on higher-level strategy, regulatory oversight, and risk management. This role will work closely with the General Counsel, Senior Counsel, and Corporate Paralegal to support contract review, corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and cross-functional legal needs.


What you'll do

Contract Review and Legal Analysis

Review, draft, and analyze commercial agreements including no-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, master service agreements, and statements of works.

Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Support contract negotiations in collaboration with senior attorneys.

Assist in developing contract templates, playbooks, and fallback positions.

Oversight and Collaboration with Corporate Paralegal

Provide legal oversight and guidance on matters handled by the Corporate Paralegal.

Review escalated issues and complex legal questions.

Ensure quality control and consistency across legal deliverables.

Corporate Governance Support

Assist with drafting and reviewing board and committee materials, resolutions, and minutes.

Support entity management and corporate recordkeeping.

Review corporate actions and escalate complex issues as needed.

Regulatory and Compliance Support

Support review of policies and procedures relevant to a regulated mortgage insurance company.

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for senior attorneys.

Assist with regulatory inquiries, audits, and compliance initiatives.

Cross-Functional Legal Support

    • Partner with Compliance, Finance, HR, Underwriting, and Operations.
    • Serve as a point of contact for routine legal questions and escalate higher-risk matters.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• 1–4 years of relevant legal experience.

• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
