The primary purpose of this position is t serve as a Senior Paralegal Specialist by providing general administrative support, and legal support to the Chief, and commercial law attorneys.
Duties
- Serves as Senior Paralegal and Administrative assistance providing independent professional legal assistance directly to the Chief and contracts attorney, Acquisition Management and Integration Center (AMIC), who in turns supports the ACC/AMIC Director by providing advice and guidance on matters relating to acquisition law at the Headquarters Air Combat Command level; to act as a primary contact regarding divers legal issues and administrative operations with senior management, program managers, contracting officers, and individual attorneys; and to work with counterparts at ACC, The Judge Advocate General's Corps ("JAG Corps"), Air Force Legal Operations Agency ("AFLOA"), Department of Defense ("DoD"), and other Executive agencies regarding same issues.
- Provides correct and practical administrative, management and procedural advice and services to Chief of DRJ and other attorneys in a timely manner.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative, productive professional relations with various government and non-government organizations at all levels.
- Mastery of the principles of government contract and fiscal law, including federal statutes related to government contract law, federal court and administrative case law relating to government contract law, the Federal Acquisition Regulation, the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Supplement, the Department of Air Force Acquisition Regulation Supplement, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Executive Orders, rules issued by the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, rules issued by the Government Accountability Office for bid protests, and policy guidance issued by the Office of Procurement Policy, the Department of Defense, and the Air Force.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include producing desired results, in the needed timeframe, with the appropriate level of supervision through the use of appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of the technical requirements of the job. Achieves, demonstrates, and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements. - Knowledge of and ability to research analyze and interpret legal documents and apply the information to case preparation.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of legal research, familiarity with legal terminology and general legal materials, and proficiency in the use of such knowledge.

- Skill in interpreting, explaining and presenting findings and conclusions relevant to a case or situation.
- Ability to plan, organizes, and completes assignments. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge and ability in using computer-based programs and systems that are used by office staff.
