Job Description

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Practice Group Attorney in the Labor & Employment Practice of our Phoenix office. This position is for an attorney who is seeking more flexibility within BigLaw, including a reduced billable hour expectation (as low as 1200 per year) and an increased opportunity to work remotely. The position is not a shareholder track position.

Qualified candidates will possess strong research, writing, and analytical ability, along with keen attention to detail and the initiative to take ownership of their work. This role is heavily focused on legal research and writing, requiring the ability to analyze complex issues and produce high-quality written work. Litigation experience is preferred - even outside the employment context - particularly experience involving substantive drafting responsibilities as to research memos, written discovery requests and responses, position statements to administrative agencies, demand letter responses, and motion practice.

This is a litigation position; it is not a consulting or counseling position. The ideal candidate will also have, or want to learn, substantive knowledge of basic employment concepts under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and similar federal and state employment laws.

The position offers the candidate meaningful responsibility, while maintaining a reduced caseload that allows for a sustained focus on high-quality research and written work product. The candidate must have strong academic credentials and references and be a member of the Arizona State Bar or willing to quickly become one.

GT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.
