Job Description
As an General Attorney (Civil Rights) at the GS-0905-14, you will be part of Office of General Counsel, Internal Litigation Services, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will provide the primary legal assistance and legal representation to the Commission and its officials in litigation brought by Commission employees and in administrative matters to be adjudicated under the procedures of various administrative forums.
Duties- Duties may include but are not limited to: Prepare briefs and conduct hearings in administrative forums including EEOC, MSPB, FLRA, OSC,and collaborate with US Attorneys on litigation matters in federal court.
- Conduct legal research and analysis of factual and legal issues. Develop legal arguments and strategies. Participate in all necessary judicial conferences and administrative hearings.
- Prepare documents necessary to litigation matters, including motions, memoranda and petitions. Review proposed Commission regulations, policies, guidelines, and directives on internal procedures.
- Provide formal and informal legal advice to agency management. Collaborate with Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer on union matters, including arbitrations and unfair labor practices.
