The Partnership Relationship Manager is a highly visible, strategic role dedicated to managing and strengthening the organization's relationships with external partners. Operating as a key liaison between our company and our partner’s organizations, this role is responsible for building trust-based partnerships that support long-term revenue growth, partner retention, and operational excellence. This position plays a central role in advancing our partnership strategy by ensuring the successful execution of partnership initiatives, facilitating seamless onboarding, and delivering proactive account support that aligns with business goals and partners expectations.
Working as an individual contributor with significant cross-functional impact, the Partnership Relationship Manager oversees the full partnership lifecycle from initial relationship development and implementation through ongoing engagement, performance evaluation, and renewal strategy. The role requires the ability to navigate complex partner needs while aligning them with internal operational and strategic priorities. This includes serving as the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of partners, resolving escalated issues, and driving communication across departments such as Sales, Implementation, Marketing, Product, and Legal.
The manager will also analyze broker performance data, monitor compliance with partnership agreements, and identify new opportunities to increase partner value and effectiveness through tailored solutions, marketing collaboration, or program enhancements. A consultative mindset, combined with exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, is essential to success in this role.
The ideal candidate brings a high level of professionalism, industry knowledge (preferably in insurance, employee benefits, or professional services), and a proven track record of managing external partnerships. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and has the ability to influence without authority while juggling multiple priorities.

Performance Outcomes
Partner Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partners, developing strong, trust-based relationships.
Conduct regular check-ins, partnership reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
Act as a consultant and advocate for partners internally, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
Foster long-term engagement, loyalty, and satisfaction among partners.
Onboarding, Implementation, and Partner Enablement
Lead the onboarding process for new partners, ensuring a smooth and timely setup.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Implementation, Product, Compliance) to support program launches and technical readiness.
Deliver training, tools, and resources that enable partners to effectively position and represent company offerings.
Ensure partners understand key processes, compliance requirements, and escalation paths.
Performance Monitoring and Growth Strategy
Analyze performance using internal reporting tools to assess engagement, effectiveness, and sales metrics.
Identify trends, challenges, and growth opportunities within assigned accounts.
Support upsells and cross-sell initiatives by recommending new solutions or program enhancements based on goals and market needs.
Develop targeted outreach strategies for underperforming or high-potential partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Operational Support
Work closely with internal teams to resolve escalated issues and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure contractual adherence and partner alignment with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate partner records in CRM and ensure documentation is up to date.
Participate in team meetings, feedback loops, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall partner experience.
Partnership Management
- Maintain thorough documentation of partnership processes.
Oversee contract compliance and timelines.
Represent the organization at partner events.
Review and coordinate sponsorship requests.
Advise leadership on whether to continue, modify, or discontinue partnerships based on performance and strategic alignment.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field ; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
3–5 years of experience in partner relationship management, account management, or business development .
Experience working in industries such as insurance, employee benefits, financial services, or professional services strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success managing external relationships and driving engagement, growth, or retention.
Strong knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), reporting tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with implementation processes, compliance requirements, and broker operations is a plus.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
