Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Pre-Suit Attorney to join our Product Liability and Fire group. This critical role 
sits at the frontlines of client engagement, case selection, and litigation readiness. You will be 
responsible for effectively vetting, fully developing, and strategically positioning cases for 
litigation. You will evaluate potential claims, oversee pre-suit investigation and medical review, 
guide causation and liability analysis, and ensure cases are strategically positioned before filing.
This role is crucial for maximizing case value, minimizing downstream inefficiencies, and 
informing decisions regarding matter retention and referral.

Responsibilities

Case Evaluation & Screening. Evaluate Product Liability and Fire intakes and matters 
to assess product exposure, injury severity, causation viability, SOL, and jurisdictional 
considerations. Make retain, refer, or decline recommendations consistent with firm and 
litigation-specific criteria.
Causation & Liability Analysis. Oversee pre-suit investigation activity, directing activity 
to gather facts and information to inform claim viability, analyzing general and specific 
causation issues, and identifying evidentiary gaps and weaknesses in a potential claim.
Client Engagement. Serve as the primary attorney point of contact for clients during the 
pre-suit phase. Serve as a trusted partner for clients to clarify facts, manage 
expectations, and ensure a high-quality client experience.
Litigation Readiness & Handoff. Prepare cases for transition to litigation by identifying 
strengths and vulnerabilities, outlining key witnesses, and partnering with litigation 
counsel to ensure continuity of strategy and factual understanding.
Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement. Maintain accurate case 
documentation and data integrity in firm systems. 

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. 
jurisdiction
• 2+ years of legal experience, with plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred
• Ability to exercise sound legal judgment across a high-volume docket
• Understanding of product-liability theories and causation analysis preferred, but not 
required
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with attorneys, investigators, and case staff
• Strong written and verbal communication skill
