Reports to a Deputy General Counsel. Responsible for providing legal advice regarding labor and employment laws.
Job Qualifications
Professional law degree (Juris Doctorate/JD) from a recognized and accredited law school. Member of the bar of the highest court of a state or the District of Columbia. Five years of Labor/Employment Law legal experience as a licensed and practicing attorney.
Major Duties
Represents the Exchange in various settings including Federal Court, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission , Exchange Hearing Examiner's Office, and/or Labor Arbitrators.
Analyzes established legislation, prepares legal documents, reviews agency policies, and advises management on legal matters.
Practices preventive law which may include developing and conducting educational sessions regarding prevention of litigation and recommends changes to policy.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provides analysis of current and proposed laws and policy and provides counsel to leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
