Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Employment Law Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting attorneys in labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, and workplace compliance. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in managing labor and employment cases, from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research related to employment law matters, including state and federal regulations.
- Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, motions, and correspondence.
- Manage and organize discovery, including document production, deposition preparation, and e-discovery processes.
- Coordinate case calendars, deadlines, and scheduling for hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of trial and arbitration materials, including exhibits and witness outlines.
- Interview clients and witnesses, gather facts, and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Organize and analyze employment records, wage statements, timekeeping data, and other critical documents.
- Assist with compliance matters, such as preparing EEOC and DOL filings and responding to audits.
- Support settlement negotiations by preparing mediation statements and settlement agreements.
- Maintain client relationships and ensure timely and effective communication.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved program.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experienceas a paralegal, with significant experience in employment law.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment and labor laws, regulations, and litigation processes.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with class action employment litigation.
- Familiarity with document review tools and e-discovery platforms.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or another language) is a plus.
