The Manager of Global Vendor Risk Management is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and maturing the vendor risk management program and ensuring effective management of vendor risk across the firm, while developing and implementing vendor risk management policies, procedures, technology, and standards globally. Additionally, while leading the Vendor Risk Management team, this role collaborates with various departments, including Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, IT, Sustainability, and others to ensure that vendor relationships are managed effectively and in line with regulatory requirements. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team to conduct thorough due diligence assessments of potential and existing vendors to identify and evaluate potential risks in collaboration with subject matter experts across various risk domains
- Orchestrating the appropriate tracking of vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring the effective offboarding of vendors
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management into firm processes as necessary
- Leading vendor risk management meetings and reporting on key risk indicators to senior management and relevant committees
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies
- Possess excellent leadership skills (e.g., organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making) necessary for effective management
- Display excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
And have:
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent in Business, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, or another related field; a Master’s degree, professional certification, or extended education in a related field, preferably
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in risk management with a focus on vendor or third-party risk management or risk consulting experience
- Experience in a professional services environment, preferably
- Supervisory experience, preferably
