Job Summary
The primary focus of the Senior Manager/Staff Counsel, Compliance Investigations is to manage and conduct investigations. This role reports to the Director, Compliance Investigations.

Job Responsibilities
- Manages and conducts investigations under the direction of the Director, Compliance Investigations.
- Collaborates with Healthcare Compliance, Legal, Asset Protection, Employee Relations, Operations and other cross-functional partners to conduct and manage investigations and support Compliance initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities and leads efforts to improve cross-functional relationships and investigations and compliance processes.
- Conducts strategic analysis of investigation process and identifies opportunities to improve and streamline reporting of investigations.
- Coordinates with Compliance Monitoring and Analytics team to review investigation data and support Legal and Compliance objectives.
- Provides training and support to Investigation Manager(s).
- Develops and mentors Compliance Analyst(s) through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

- Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in Compliance OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Compliance.
- Experience conducting internal investigations.
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
- Prior Legal or Compliance experience focused on providing counsel and recommendations to executives and management related to matters of various complexity.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and at least 3 years of post-bar attorney legal work experience in a law firm or corporate setting.
- Required licensure to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia.
- Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical abilities and organ and written communication skills.
