Job Description

Associate Counsel

 

The Associate Legal Counsel will assist our Corporate Counsel in ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements. The Associate Legal Counsel will draft and manage legal documents, assist in overseeing all legal aspects of the business, and offer guidance and advice to management. Applicants must know how to manage legal documents, review litigation strategy, and handle statutory filing. The job requires extensive knowledge of legal language and practices, and excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced with crisis management, and capable of handling litigation, patents, and infringement. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, supply chain contracts, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, including environmental, labor, and safety laws.
  • Assist in managing legal risks by conducting research and providing recommendations on corporate policies and procedures.
  • Support employment and labor law matters, including policy development and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as HR, procurement, and operations, to provide legal guidance.
  • Handle document preparation and legal correspondence related to litigation, regulatory filings, and corporate governance.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that impact the manufacturing industry and advise leadership accordingly.
  • Work with external counsel on specialized legal matters as needed.

Essential Skills: 

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, EPA, labor laws) is a plus.
  • Ability to interact, present, communicate, influence, and persuade decision makers at all levels of an organization. Value and consultative sales training preferred.
  • Prove performance in solving complex sales processes by getting the right position with real decision makers.
