Description
Palm Venture Studios is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our legal function in the management of our portfolio companies as well as the overall business operations of Palm Ventures. In this role, you will work closely with the legal team and assist in various aspects of legal research, document preparation, and project management.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent organization abilities, and a proactive approach to handling legal tasks. You will assist in the preparation of legal documents, perform legal research, maintain organized files, and facilitate communication between internal teams and external legal counsel. Key Responsibilities- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents and contracts.
- Conduct legal research on various topics, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Maintain and organize the company’s legal files and records.
- Support the legal team with managing deadlines and deliverables for various projects.
- Facilitate communication with all stakeholders, including company executives and outside legal counsel.
- Ensure that all legal documents are well-organized and easily accessible.
- Continuously monitor and report on ongoing legal issues.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a private equity or venture capital environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, employment law, and legal research methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, document management systems, Gsuite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Benefits
This is a half- to-full-time contract role to start, at ~$5K/month, with possibility for becoming full-time in the future.
