Paralegal

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal with strong defense-side experience to join a high-volume, document-intensive practice. This role requires an independent professional who understands the full litigation lifecycle, can proactively manage cases, and is capable of drafting substantive pleadings without supervision.

This is not an entry-level or support-only role. The ideal candidate is strategic, detail-oriented, and understands the business side of litigation, particularly billing and time narrative development.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently draft pleadings, including:

  • Complaints

  • Motions

  • Discovery documents (requests, responses, interrogatories)

• Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution

• Handle discovery requests and conduct background reviews

• Organize and manage high volumes of documentation

• Proactively identify next procedural steps in active cases

• Maintain and manage attorney calendars and litigation deadlines

• Accurately track billable time and craft detailed billing narratives that justify work performed

• Collaborate effectively with attorneys while maintaining autonomy in day-to-day case management

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience

• Strong defense-side litigation background

• Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings independently

• Hands-on experience with discovery requests and background investigations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

• Direct experience with billing and time entry narratives

• Ability to manage cases independently and anticipate procedural next steps

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage heavy document flow

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal injury experience (particularly defense-oriented and aligned with billing expectations)
