
Position Summary
The Head of Labor & Employment Law will be responsible for directing and overseeing the labor and employment legal function at Ralliant across all business segments. This senior attorney will be accountable for setting strategy, managing disputes, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. The role will report to the General Counsel of Ralliant , with a dotted line to the Chief People Officer, and be based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Compliance
- Provide strategic counsel to management on labor and employment issues, including employee relations, immigration, union affairs, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee investigations and disputes related to employment matters, including discrimination, wage and hour compliance, and whistleblower protections.
- Advise on labor relations strategies, including contract negotiations, grievances, arbitration, and unfair labor practice charges.
- Establish policies and procedures aligned with best practices to mitigate legal risks.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
- Develop and lead the labor and employment function at Ralliant , ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Partner with HR and Compliance teams to implement workforce policies and strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and stakeholders across the organization.
- Work closely with outside counsel to manage employment litigation and labor negotiations efficiently.
Training & Risk Mitigation
- Develop and implement training programs on labor and employment compliance.
- Monitor emerging employment law trends and assess their impact on the business.
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead audits and reviews to ensure ongoing compliance.
Candidate Profile
Ralliant seeks a dynamic and strategic labor and employment attorney with deep expertise in employment law and labor relations. This individual must be a business-oriented leader with strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate complex legal issues within a global organization.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 10-12 years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel experience preferred.
- Expertise in U.S. labor and employment laws, with exposure to global employment regulations.
- Proven ability to manage employment disputes, investigations, and litigation.
- Strong track record of advising business leaders on HR and employment-related matters.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a complex, matrixed, and global organization.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
