As a member of our Government Contracts Practice Area, you’ll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as we advance our clients’ missions. You’ll serve as a government contracts attorney providing support and leveraging experience with federal procurement transactions and compliance as part of a broader legal department and the team of government contracts attorneys supporting the federal business across civil, defense, and intelligence “Sectors.” You’ll support one of our Sectors by working on a wide range of complex transactional issues at the prime and subcontract levels and providing risk reviews and insights to senior attorneys within the Sector. You’ll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You’ll establish trusted partnerships across the firm and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today. You Have:
  • 4+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate, or government environment

  • Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protest jurisprudence

  • Experience leading or assisting with prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support such as RFP reviews, and post-award counseling, including debriefings and protest assessments

  • Experience partnering closely with business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and root causes and aiding in designing and implementing practical mitigation strategies or action plans

  • Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered

  • Ability to translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions

  • Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics or KPIs and manage against program plans

  • LL. B or J.D. degree

  • Active bar admission in any state or the District of Columbia

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with commercial contract negotiation, including federal or non-federal

  • Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm

  • Experience advising on the governance of Joint Ventures and pursuit of work through JVs

  • Experience counseling on compliance matters in areas such as gifts and business courtesies, anti-kickback, post-government employment restrictions, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, and competition and antitrust

  • Experience with government contracts regulatory framework, including rules and considerations for post-government employment, competition or antitrust, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, or gifts and anti-kickback

  • Experience designing, implementing, executing, and enhancing compliance programs or sub-programs for post-government employment, competition or antitrust, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, or gifts and anti-kickback

  • Experience advising on information security statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks, including FISMA, DFARS, or NIST

  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,600.00 to $285,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
