
What You’ll Do
Our Paralegals assist the attorney staff by performing legal activities that don’t require attorney signature, client advise, or appearances in court. In addition, you’ll:
- Prepare internal and external documents and communications
- Respond to inquiries in support of the legal counsel
- Conduct research regarding various laws and regulations while informing the legal counsel of any changes or business impacts
- Lead and participate in legal projects to address various department needs
- Coordinate, assemble, and submit corporate regulatory filings to state and federal agencies
- Ensure regulatory records are up to date and conduct compliance reviews to verify proper licenses
What it Takes
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related legal experience; at least two years of paralegal experience
- American Bar Association-Certified Paralegal Training preferred
- Advanced knowledge of case management, litigation processes, and knowledge of and ability to perform legal research
- NAIC, UCAA Filing Experience Helpful
- Experience with resources such as Westlaw and Lexis beneficial
- Strong analytical ability and knowledge of litigation processes
- Effective organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- High level of computer skills and familiarity with legal case management software (ProLaw, Clio, etc)
- Ability to work independently and in multi-jurisdictional venues
- Must be able to meet travel requirements of the job
