Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position as required by the Older Americans Act is to protect and secure the rights, benefits, and autonomy of older individuals. The Legal Assistant Developer will implement the requirements of the Older Americans Act as it relates to the provision of legal services created to safeguard the rights and protections of older adults. The individual will also be responsible for the review and oversight of rules governing aging programs and services within the Division's scope of work and authority.

Salary Range: $55,221 - $96,639

Recruitment Range: $55,221 - 73,101

  • Demonstrated experience working with older adults, the aging network, legal service providers, or organizations that serve disabled and vulnerable populations.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training for audiences of various skill levels and familiarity with the information presented.
  • Adept at handling multiple projects or assignments with competing deadlines.
  • Experience in convening and coordinating work groups.

This position is funded in part through federal funds.

Minimum Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BA/BS in Political Science, Human Services, Public Administration, or Communications with three years of work experience in one of the above or related fields. Management

prefers candidates with an MA/MS in Public Administration, Human Services, Political Science, or a related field of study with two years of work experience. Individuals with training or background as a Paralegal, Law Clerk, Legislative Assistant, or experience in governmental policy making or oversight at the

local, state, or federal level are encouraged to apply.
