Position Description:
Support the legal team by combining strong data management skills with paralegal expertise to help administer complex mass tort settlements. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate documentation, efficient workflows, and clear communication with internal teams, external partners, and claimants. The Legal Coordinator contributes to Milestone’s mission of delivering principled, client-centered legal solutions with empathy and precision.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize large volumes of legal data and case documentation across multiple settlement programs.
- Assist attorneys with document review, legal correspondence, and preparation of settlement materials.
- Ensure compliance with settlement agreements, court orders, and internal protocols.
- Track deadlines, claimant statuses, and project milestones using internal systems and spreadsheets.
- Support post-settlement processes, including release tracking, lien coordination, and claimant outreach.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Communicate professionally with claimants, law firms, and third-party vendors.
- Prepare and submit legal filings and documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate data entry and reporting.
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and operational issues.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all case files are up to date.
- Respond promptly to internal and external communications to keep projects on track.
- Provide administrative support for legal projects and deliverables.
- Help resolve claimant concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Contribute to a collaborative, organized, and client-focused team environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal support or paralegal role, ideally in mass tort or complex litigation.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and legal case management systems.
- Ability to manage and analyze large datasets accurately.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with post-settlement processes such as release administration and lien resolution is a plus.
