The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:
What You Will Do
- Provide oversight to business unit and Corporate Global Trade teams through frequent engagement and substantive advice and guidance to ensure consistent, aligned approaches for addressing compliance matters common across the RTX enterprise.
- Maintain and continually improve and build upon a framework of templates and guidance documents to support Global Trade teams at the business units and Corporate functions on their dynamic caseload of regulatory and policy violation investigations.
- Lead engagement with counterparts at the business units and Corporate functions to identify and communicate bets practices for investigations, root cause and corrective action determination, disclosure preparation and other compliance enhancement initiatives.
- Oversee administration of RTX tool and user guide used to manage all Global Trade matters throughout their life cycle.
- Manage and conduct internal investigations and draft voluntary disclosures for submission to relevant regulators for Corporate functions’ Global Trade matters and perform extensive investigation into the root cause of issues.
- Take leadership roles on Corporate steering committees to engage in developing and / or guiding policy and process changes across RTX.
- Collaborate with Corporate steering committees to execute the Global Trade health monitoring program by analyzing compliance data, identifying enterprise trends, and establishing enhancement actions.
- Coordinate with RTX Consent Agreement team, contribute to internal reporting on progress to requirements, assist in drafting semi-annual reports, and working with external auditors.
- Directly engage with government regulators and / or enforcement agencies as necessary for Global Trade-related compliance matters for the company.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Juris Doctor Degree and minimum 10 years of legal experience, including a minimum 5 years of export controls (EAR & ITAR) compliance experience.
- Previous experience working with and interpreting Global Trade laws and regulations.
- Experience leading compliance investigations, maintaining legal privilege and briefing leadership and stakeholders.
- Admitted to the bar and able to maintain the ability to practice law in the U.S; in addition to in-house counsel registration within a one year following hire.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, due to government contracts, programs and projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated ability to manage, with limited oversight, a wide range of complex and unique Global Trade compliance issues.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Demonstrated history of collaborating with others and managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Prior experience providing Global Trade business support.
- Experience operating with non-U.S. trade regulations.
Location
- Hybrid from Arlington, VA; hybrid employees work regularly both onsite and offsite.

The salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 316,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
