ATTORNEYS' TITLE FUND SERVICES

Summary:

The Real Estate Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to Underwriting, including Commercial Services, Underwriting Counsels, Commercial Examiners, Underwriting Management, and Escrow Services.

           

*Hybrid- candidate needs to be located in the Central Florida area.

                                     

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently facilitate Member closings, including closing statement preparation, document preparation, recording, phone and email communications with Members and other parties, and coordination with Escrow Services.
  • Prepare pro-forma policies and endorsements.
  • Prepare final title policies.
  • Support Construction Services and serve as the point of contact for Fund Members. Process draw requests, including ordering title updates and preparing endorsements and invoices. Maintain construction services files.
  • Partner with Escrow Services and Underwriters team to review, edit, and have executed, any escrow agreements and provide information and proper documentation required for deposit of funds into escrow accounts.
  • Oversee and create invoicing for Commercial Services fees.
  • Work with Fund Members, Underwriters, and Company’s offices, agents, and attorneys nationwide to refer, coordinate, track, and follow-up on out of state orders.
  • Assist Fund Members and staff with inquiries related to Escrow Services.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by management.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Paralegal degree/certification or minimum 2 years of related practical experience with a law firm or commercial title insurer.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a real estate paralegal, including title insurance commitments, policies, settlement statements, closings, and post-closing, preferred. 
  • Bookkeeping experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with closing software
  • Knowledge of the title insurance and information industry is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate concisely and politely.
  • Ability to independently process commercial and large transactional real estate closings from start to finish.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Windows and Microsoft Office competency (including but not limited to, intermediate to advanced Excel competency, word processing, navigating in databases, and creating presentations)

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • The ability to work with confidential information.
  • The ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday is required.
  • Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.
  • Local/daily travel by automobile and overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, may be required.
