Job Description

This position serves as a Supervisory IT Specialist, located in the Office of Information Technology, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U.S. Department of Justice. The Supervisory IT Specialist is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of IT services and operations, network and telecommunications services, and customer-facing support services.

Duties The duties and responsibilities for a Supervisory IT Specialist GS-2210-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a Supervisory IT Specialist with responsibility for directing and managing enterprise information technology services, including customer support, network operations, communication systems, and systems administration. Provides oversight of end-user computing services, including desktop systems, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and telecommunications services. Monitors systems administration activities to ensure reliability, availability, and security of enterprise systems. Develops, implements, and maintains IT policies, procedures, and operational standards. Plans and assigns work based on priorities and employee capabilities and establish performance standards and evaluate employee's performance. Salary

Qualifications To qualify for the position of Supervisory IT Specialist, at GS-2210-14, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below. Basic Qualifications (2210 series): Please refer to the OPM IT Management Series 2210 Qualification Standard for the specific experience requirements for the GS-12 and above positions. AND Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable non-Federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties: Providing guidance in developing, implementing, and updating policies, procedures, and operational standards pertaining to IT network operations, service functions, communication systems, and systems administration; Planning workflow and work assignments for staff by setting and adjusting short-term work priorities; Monitoring system performance and leading corrective actions to enhance performance and prevent future issues; Advising on new and advanced technologies and determining the impact on operational effectiveness; and Managing the full lifecycle of enterprise-level IT systems, overseeing the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by 07/27/2026 of this announcement. SF-50: You must submit your most recent SF-50 (Notification of Personnel Action). Do not submit an award SF-50, these do not contain sufficient information about your appointment. Your SF-50 should list the full position title, series, grade and step, organization, duty location, service computation date, effective date, and your service type and tenure status. Performance Appraisal: Copy of most recent performance appraisal with supervisor's signature showing the official final rating of record. In cases where the performance appraisal is incomplete or unavailable, applicants may provide an explanation of the reasons (if applying as a status candidate with current or former Federal Service). Awards: Submit a list of any awards (e.g. superior performance awards, special act or achievement awards, quality step increase, etc.) you received in the last 5 years. CTAP eligibility documentation: A copy of your RIF separation notice; notice of proposed removal for declining a directed geographic relocation outside of the local commuting area; a Certificate of Expected Separation ; or certification that you are in a surplus organization or occupation (this could be a position abolishment letter, or a notice of eligibility for discontinued service retirement). A copy of your most recent performance appraisal and SF-50 "Notification of Personnel Action" noting current position, grade/band level, promotion potential, and duty location.
