Following 30 days of employment, this role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with three in-office days and two remote workdays per week. Please note that this arrangement is subject to change based on business needs.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals seeking to expand their careers who are interested in gaining fast-paced professional experience with a national law firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and secure medical authorizations and records to support case development.
  • Draft and respond to discovery demands with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare case materials and exhibits, summarize medical records and deposition transcripts, and assist with comprehensive trial preparation.
  • Analyze and organize document productions from opposing counsel and co-defendants to ensure readiness for litigation milestones.
  • Conduct detailed file review to identify and address outstanding discovery needs ahead of court appearances, pleadings, and depositions.
  • Prepare material and documentation for expert witness evaluation and trial support.
  • Develop detailed chronologies and summaries of key case documents to aid legal strategy.
  • Maintain and manage case files and documentation systems to ensure smooth case progression and easy retrieval of critical materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance defense or related litigation practice.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with outside vendors, and maintain detailed records.
  • Experience summarizing deposition transcripts, assisting with discovery and supporting trial preparation is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with legal document management systems.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys and partners.
  • Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenges as part of a growing and fast-moving legal team.
