
We are looking for a full-time Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in handling a diverse caseload, working closely with partners and clients, and contributing to the firm's continued success.
Key Responsibilities- Handle all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial and appeal
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Negotiate settlements and plea agreements
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance adjusters
- Manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines
- Develop case strategies and litigation plans
- Conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for testimony
- Analyze and evaluate insurance policies and coverage issues
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends
- Participate in business development activities and client relationship management
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and support staff
- Contribute to the firm's knowledge management and best practices initiatives
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the state bar
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance defense and civil litigation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Experience in multiple areas of insurance defense (e.g., personal injury, property damage, professional liability)
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and case management software
- Strong client service orientation
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and high-volume caseloads
