Summary

The CFO Ops Assistant General Counsel will provide general legal support for LG Electronics USA (LGEUS) for the Finance and Logistics departments. In addition, it will provide litigation management for B2B business litigation. The position will further serve to ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate legal risks and provide business legal support for the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and support negotiation of various types of complex agreements, including agreements with vendors and other parties related to the business.
  • Advise on antitrust and other legal issues associated with distribution of products and services, online sales tools, and operations.
  • Review and advise on proposed external communications including marketing materials, press releases, external presentations, white papers, remarks, and other materials.
  • Work with risk management staff on insurance coverage obligations.
  • Advise on licensing and other regulatory requirements for the business.
  • Manage and/or support pre-litigation and litigation disputes, government administrative agency actions, or subpoenas.
  • Manage outside law firms for complex legal litigation.
  • Generally support LGEUS’ business teams in the U.S. as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • JD degree, plus at least 5-7 years’ relevant experience.
  • English and Korean language proficiency required.
  • Experience negotiating contracts.
  • Strong execution and project management skills with ability to organize stakeholders from across a global organization on cross-functional projects (e.g., tax, credit, insurance, etc.).
  • In-house legal experience preferred.
  • Advanced organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive time lines.
  • Able to attend meetings as scheduled in different time zones
  • Ability to work independently and with accountability within a multinational corporate group.
  • Position located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, with travel (15%) sometimes required.
  • New Jersey Bar license or ability to promptly obtain NJ in-house counsel license.

Recruiting Range

$150,000 - $210,000 USD
