
Position Description:
Lead legal team supervision, cross-functional coordination, and strategic program development to advance Milestone’s administration of complex mass tort settlements. Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and claimants to deliver principled, efficient, and empathetic legal solutions aligned with Milestone’s agile and client-centered values.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise teams’ day-to-day review and analysis of applicable statutes and legal frameworks.
- Ensure statutory applications align with governing settlement documentation, including master settlement agreements and case management orders.
- Develop and administer complex coordination programs to support the resolution of mass tort claims.
- Oversee claims administration processes related to legal coordination efforts.
- Uphold confidentiality and manage sensitive information in accordance with secure protocols.
- Manage document distribution and submission for mass tort and multi-party personal injury settlements.
- Coordinate with external vendors, law firms, and service providers to support claim review and approval.
- Maintain professional and timely communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Track and manage a high volume of case files and legal documentation with accuracy.
- Provide detailed reporting on all active settlement projects under team supervision.
- Collaborate with onboarding teams to support the integration and training of new team members.
- Deliver clear and accurate information regarding settlement processes and claimant status.
- Support communication efforts with plaintiffs and assist in resolving inquiries.
- Maintain professionalism and empathy in all claimant interactions.
- Accurately document and update claimant records in internal systems.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve complex claimant concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability for overall project success.
- Provide administrative support on key legal projects and deliverables.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of tasks as outlined in project plans, legal orders, and client directives.
- Respond promptly to internal communications to maintain project momentum.
- Communicate client needs effectively across internal teams.
- Identify operational challenges and propose practical, strategic solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data reporting for all assigned projects.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid license to practice law in either New York (NY) or Texas (TX)
- Member of the state bar in good standing (certificate of good standing required upon request)
- A minimum of 5 (five) years of experience
