Job Description:

Your Role:

Based in Austin, Texas, the Associate General Counsel in the construction division of the Ferrovial group plays a crucial role in overseeing legal matters related to the company's operations. This position involves preparing and negotiating various legal documents, developing policies and training programs, evaluating risks, managing claims, supervising external counsel, representing the company in legal proceedings, and handling legal platforms and data management. The role requires strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.

What You Will Do: 

  • Document preparation: Prepare, review, evaluate, and negotiate (as applicable) various types of documents, including agreements (confidentiality, services and other agreements), corporate documents (operational agreements, minutes and resolutions), immigration documents (supporting documents), proposal documents (including documents needed for qualification statements and proposals), legal reports (weekly and monthly), and legal memoranda on issues as necessary.
  • Policies and training: Develop and recommend policies and training on numerous legal issues and provide support relating to policies in other departments.
  • Risk evaluation: Identify risks and provide advice on proposed projects.
  • Claims: Investigate and manage first and third-party claims.
  • External counsel: Retain, manage and supervise outside counsel.
  • Representation: Represent company in various meetings and legal proceedings.
  • Platform and Data Management: Manage legal platforms (including registered agent and legal research platforms) and data in Teams and SharePoint sites.

Who You Are:

  • 7-10+ years of experience, with experience in the infrastructure industry.
  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas bar.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to self-manage within a diverse team.
