SENIOR PARALEGAL
 
The City of Kaukauna, Wisconsin is looking for a part-time Senior Paralegal to support our City Attorney. Our Senior Paralegal is the primary point of contact for customers and clients of the City Attorney’s Office.
 
What You Will Do
The Senior Paralegal is the primary point of contact for our customers and clients of the city Attorney's Office. This person will answer incoming requests, conduct research, prepare drafts and supporting documentation and support the City Attorney.
 
The Senior Paralegal position independently provides a full range of advanced professional paralegal assistance and support in complex civil litigation to assist the City Attorney. The work of this position includes drafting complex pleadings, legal documents, and memos; organizing and compiling trial materials, gathering and analyzing facts for various phases of litigation; attending and preparing for depositions and trials; identifying and collecting exhibits; and maintaining contact with client agencies. 
 
Additional areas of work will include drafting and filing real estate documents, bankruptcy proofs of claim, probate claims and small claims court documents, and drafting the preparation of ordinances and resolutions for presentation to the City Council.
 
What You Will Bring
The qualified candidate will bring at least seven (7) years of experience from working within a law office, corporate legal department, or related area and possess a Paralegal Certificate from an American Bar Association accredited program. The candidate should be a Certified Paralegal through the Wisconsin State Bar Paralegal Certification Process or have the ability to achieve that certification within 24 months of hire. Success will also require having excellent organizational skills, an in-depth knowledge of legal terminology, practices and procedures, and conducting legal research. Being able to demonstrate excellent independent judgment and discretion in management of activities is key in this position. 
 
What You’ll Get
This position is an hourly, non-exempt position that will work an average of 29 hours per week. The pay range for this position is $28.74 - $33.58 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Part-time employees may also qualify for additional benefits, including:
