
We're seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with deep expertise in business and finance litigation to support the final stages of lawsuit preparation. You should be highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently, with a strong command of legal documentation and court procedures. This is a remote, contract role requiring availability during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Document Preparation & Review
- Format and proofread legal documents (complaints, motions, subpoenas) to ensure compliance with court standards
- Draft legal documents, including discovery requests, deposition notices, and trial preparation materials
- Fill in and prepare court forms, legal templates, and case captions
Case File Organization & Evidence Management
- Organize, label, and maintain evidence exhibits and case files
- Download, rename, combine, and manage legal documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Maintain subpoena and case status tracking systems
Litigation Support
- Support the case litigator by drafting concise summaries and explanations of financial evidence
- Prepare deposition summaries and deposition prep documents
- Assist in trial prep including organizing witness lists and exhibits
- Calendar key litigation deadlines as needed
Communication & Case Management
- Use legal case management tools (e.g., Filevine) to update and manage case progress
- Coordinate with the legal team regarding case status and tasks
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness in data entry and task execution
- 5+ years of paralegal experience with at least 4 years focused on litigation
- 5+ years of experience with legal writing and documentation
- Demonstrated organizational excellence and attention to detail
- Strong ability to clearly summarize and present complex financial and business evidence
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and legal case management systems
- Comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and shifting priorities
- Prior experience supporting California-based litigation
- Strong knowledge of California court procedures
- Background in employment law or regulatory cases
- Excellent english written communication and document drafting skills
- Comfortable working 1020 hours per week during the project period
- Availability during PST working hours
- Location: Remote
- Hours: 10-20 hours/week (flexible during PST business hours; up to 40 hours/week possible during peak periods)
