PURPOSE: The Part-Time Associate is responsible for handling contested/litigated matters for the Firm. Additionally, this individual will handle a portion of New York Commercial Foreclosure litigation. This person will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the litigation process on behalf of our clients in New York. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend trials and hearings. Taking and defending depositions. Must be willing to travel throughout the entire state of New York on an as needed basis. May be required to attend hearings, mediations and other duties as assigned. Assist with other duties and special projects as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Minimum of 4 years of litigation/courtroom experience. Foreclosure experience a plus. Member of the New York Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements. Must be proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters. Proficiency with Fastcase or Westlaw.
