- Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision of the General Counsel, represent the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services in the Administrative Law Court, Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings, circuit and appellate courts of South Carolina, and federal courts as assigned; conduct research and drafts pleadings; advises the Ignition Interlock Device Program; provide legal training to agents and other staff; provide legal advice to employees and management; review and respond to legal issues involving civil judgments; draft and review policies and procedures; review use of force incidents; analyze proposed legislation, resolutions, and amendments; draft or review contracts, memoranda of agreement or understanding; and perform other related duties upon request of the General Counsel and the Director.- Minimum and Additional Requirements
A juris doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school and experience as a practicing attorney.
- Preferred Qualifications
A juris doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school and experience as a practicing attorney; member of the SC Bar and two years prior professional legal experience. Admitted to practice in the South Carolina Federal District Court and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
