Job Description

As a key member of the Professional Development & Attorney Training team at a premier law firm, the assistant is responsible for delivering training programs, mentoring initiatives and culture-enhancing/morale boosting events to attorneys. Track expenses, maintain records and provide general administrative support to the Professional Development and Talent team.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:

  • Work with attorneys and other members of the Professional Development team to deliver weekly training programs to the firm’s attorneys. 
  • Assist with supporting the design, implementation and execution of New Associate Orientation and annual “Mentoring Week” initiative.
  • Assist PD/CLE Specialist in tracking CLE credits and entering in various forms of CLE data.
  • Assist with running Litigation Workshop series.
  • Assist with managing the associate mentoring program.
  • Provide general support to the Senior Manager and Senior Director, including preparation for Committee meetings.
  • Serve as a creative contributor to new projects and initiatives and explore new technologies to enhance the learning and networking opportunities of our attorneys.
  • Coordinate logistics for training programs and maintain files. 
  • Process mentoring expenses.
  • Update and maintain the Professional Development calendar and mentoring databases.
  • Assist with managing multiple Professional Development/Talent team projects and organizing meetings and receptions for the department generally.
  • Provide administrative clerical support as needed, including printing, copying, and supply orders.
  • Any additional responsibilities and projects as required by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 1+ years of experience in a professional services organization or a highly-motivated self-starter with history of work experience.
  • Individual must be organized and be able to work efficiently and independently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks and demonstrate ownership of such tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize work projects and multi-task.
  • Strong Excel, Word, & PowerPoint skills and willingness and ability to learn multiple new databases.
  • Willingness to develop the confidence and strong verbal and writing skills required to interact with the firm’s attorneys and senior staff. 
  • A flexible and enthusiastic team player with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and technical skills, or a willingness to research, learn and apply knowledge.
  • Willingness to work over-time as needed.
  • Ability to take feedback and effectively incorporate into one’s daily performance.  
  • Ability to carry light boxes and materials up to 10 lbs on occasion.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational and work experience required.

Estimated salary range is $60,000 - $70,000. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
