Litigation Legal Assistants work closely with senior-level attorneys, paralegals and other team members in managing complex litigation cases. This team player has a friendly, positive attitude and a high level of professionalism who will play a key supporting role to ensure our clients are well served.
Responsibilities:
- Support of Shareholder and senior-level attorneys in a pre-litigation and litigation environment (maintain attorney calendars; scheduling of depositions, meetings, hearings, and travel; conducting client intakes, etc.)
- Collaborate with team attorneys, paralegals and other staff in preparation of court filings, depositions, hearings and meetings
- Open new client files and assist with the maintenance of large electronic and paper files
- Request for medical, financial, and other case-related documents and records
- Electronic filing in both state and federal courts of various jurisdictions
- Identify, calculate and calendar state and federal deadlines (docketing)
- Preparation of general correspondence
- Direct client contact
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 3+ years of working in a litigation law firm
- 2+ years’ experience docketing (identifying, calculating, and calendaring federal and state statutory deadlines)
- Experience with electronic filing in both state and federal courts and in various jurisdictions
- Be an exceptional listener and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must have excellent attention to detail and be willing to take initiative
