ROLE OVERVIEW
CIG Energy is seeking an Associate General Counsel focusing on negotiating and drafting corporate, transactional, and manufacturing agreements, with 3–5 years of experience to support a rapidly scaling, vertically integrated renewable energy platform with manufacturing supply relationships. This role reports directly to the parent company’s General Counsel and supports drafting, negotiating, and executing corporate, commercial, and project-level agreements that enable secure, reliable, and 100% American-made energy solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate and commercial agreements including M&A, EPC, supply, and financing documents.
- Support utility-scale solar and battery energy storage transactions.
- Handle corporate governance matters including LLC agreements and bylaws.
- Advise management on legal risk and transactional strategy.
- Coordinate with Development, Capital Markets, EPC, and Operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage complex matters independently with high quality and timeliness.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex supply agreements.
- Provides legal advice and counsel to business units in diverse matters affecting the day-to-day activities of the organization.
- Provides strategic legal guidance, oversees regulatory adherence, develops governance policies, manages litigations, and advises on ethical matters, serving as the conscience of the corporation to balance legal requirements with business objectives.
- Stays up to date on industry changes and key deadlines and milestones.
- Continually evaluates changes in laws and regulations, communicates those changes to business stakeholders and provides support in development policies and procedures as required.
- Drafts, negotiates energy and manufacuring agreements and ensuring that all agreements are equitable and protect the business of all potential risks and liability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Utility-scale solar and/or BESS transactional experience.
- Familiarity with FERC, ERCOT, NERC frameworks preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Member in good standing of a U.S. state bar.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong team-oriented mindset.

- Strong understanding of renewable energy regulations and industry trends.
- Ability to communicate effectively both with internal colleagues and external partners.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and decision-making skills required.
- Well organized, disciplined, hands-on and process-oriented leader with the ability of digging into details when necessary.
- Strong adaptability to handle shifting priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
