We are hiring an Assistant Counsel, preferably based in the Philadelphia suburbs, PA with flexibility to be remote most days.  In this global role, you will have the responsibility for working with and supporting all levels of employees.

• The Assistant Counsel will primarily focus on U.S. employment law matters, but will also be given exposure to other legal aspects of our business including compliance programs, regulatory work, and commercial work.
• The role will span across all of TekniPlex’s U.S. business units and locations, requiring direct interaction with corporate and plant personnel.
• The role requires advising internal clients regarding all aspects of the employment relationship including hiring, termination, employee conduct, and conflict resolution. This is not a litigation position; while employee issues may lead to litigation, the role is primarily focused on mitigating the possibilities and risk of litigation, and then coordinating with outside counsel if litigation does arise. 
• Experience with manufacturing or other blue-collar workforce preferred.
• Excellent drafting skills are a must.
• This position must be able to maintain the legal department’s standard of delivering the highest quality service at all times, to a level equaling or surpassing that of any law firm.
• Draft, maintain, and regulate legal policies.
• Interact routinely with business personnel at all levels of our organization.

What skills do you bring to the role?

• Degree from an accredited institution required
• 3-5 years of employment law experience
• Spanish fluency preferred
• Member of Bar, certificate in good standing required
• Excellent communication skills
• Precise drafting ability and issue spotting
• Ability to balance competing legal and commercial concerns
