What does a Paralegal do?

The ideal candidate for the Full-Time Paralegal position at Perdue Brandon will thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment while demonstrating outstanding organizational skills. This role entails close collaboration with attorneys on civil litigation cases, where you will draft original answers and manage discovery requests and responses.

Exceptional oral and written communication abilities are essential, as you will often interact with clients and court personnel. The ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and take initiative with minimal supervision will set you apart. Key responsibilities include calendaring trial and pretrial deadlines and ensuring high levels of efficiency and accuracy in detailed work, such as e-filing pleadings with various district courts.

Are you the Paralegal we're looking for?

To succeed as a Full-Time Paralegal at Perdue Brandon, candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for those with a 2-year paralegal certificate or some college. A minimum of four years of experience as a legal assistant is vital, as this role is not entry-level. Outstanding computer skills and knowledge, particularly in Windows 10, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, are essential for managing the demands of civil litigation. Familiarity with the E-file system, and experience with Docuware and Clio billing systems, while helpful, are not mandatory.

Successful candidates will excel in communication, both verbal and written, demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, and effectively prioritize tasks while working independently or within a team. A keen attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to adapt to varying physical demands are also crucial for this position.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; Some college or recent graduate of 2-year paralegal certificate program preferred but not required
