Job Summary

FordDirect is looking to hire an Intern within the Legal team for our Summer Internship Program.  This position will provide support to the Legal, Compliance & Privacy teams conducting research, drafting contracts and updating policies.  The ideal candidate will be curious by nature and have a desire to learn new tools and technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain real-world business experience on a legal team.

 

This will be a full-time, paid position based in Dearborn, MI

 

Hybrid: Intern will be required to work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Duration: June 8th through August 28th, 2026

 

Essential Functions

  1. Research related to privacy and cybersecurity laws
  2. Drafting and revising contracts
  3. Assist in implementation of AI tools
  4. Update policies and procedures
  5. Research and support company eCommerce site, The Shop
  6. Support with corporate governance and organization

 

Learning Opportunities

  1. Gain knowledge working for a Digital Marketing Company within the automotive industry
  2. Develop skills in best practices for managing privacy and data compliance regulations
  3. Learn to be client oriented and drive value in a legal department
  4. Experience working both independently and on a team

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of legal field
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Education 

First or second year law student

 

Background Checks including criminal history and drug screening will be required
