Junior Corporate Counsel

You will work closely with our executive team and various departments to ensure compliance with legal standards and provide guidance on corporate law matters. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong foundation of knowledge on a broad set of  legal matters, including employment law, contract negotiations, and corporate policies.

The Junior Corporate Counsel position offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career legal professional to gain hands-on experience as In-House Counsel. This role provides mentorship and professional development while allowing exposure to various legal matters within the company, such as customer, employee, financial, and compliance issues. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Tennessee and be prepared to work in-office Monday through Thursday at our headquarters in Nashville, TN.

• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, policies, and legal documents to support business operations.
• Assist with corporate governance matters, including compliance initiatives.
• Support risk management efforts by identifying potential legal risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  
  

• Conduct in-depth legal research and provide clear, concise summaries on corporate, employment, and contract issues.
• Monitor and analyze evolving legal developments, advising internal stakeholders on potential impacts.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and practices align with industry standards and legal best practices.
  
  

• Collaborate with JumpCrew’s Human Resources, Legal Team, and business leaders to address a wide range of legal matters, including employment law, contract negotiations, and corporate policies.
• Demonstrate a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor, fostering strong working relationships across teams.
• Manage and coordinate relationships with external counsel as needed, ensuring alignment with business and legal objectives.
  
  

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards in all legal matters.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant privacy laws, data protection regulations, and corporate confidentiality policies to safeguard company and client information.
  
  

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Successful completion of the bar exam
• Licensed to practice law in Tennessee

• 3 to 4 years of legal experience, including internships, clerkships, or relevant work experience in corporate, employment, or contract law.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into actionable advice.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.
• Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and risk-assessment abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• A desire to work on a variety of legal matters rather than specializing in one area.

• A "jack-of-all-trades" mindset—excited to support a range of legal functions, from contracts and compliance to employment law and corporate governance.
