Legal Assistant - Litigation

McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., L.P.A. is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for its Litigation Practice Group. The Legal Assistant will provide legal support to their assigned attorneys and paralegals.

Responsibilities

• Assists attorneys and paralegals who specialize in litigation.
• Maintains calendars, contact lists, client files, and general office files.
• Reviews and prepares files to be closed at the conclusion of a matter.
• Types correspondence and legal documents to be reviewed by attorney/paralegal.
• Schedules calls, client meetings, mediations, and other events.
• Electronically files documents with county, state, and federal court systems.
• Scans and saves documents to internal document management system (NetDocs).
• Monitors incoming mail and ensures that outgoing mail is timely delivered.
• Greets clients and visitors; maintains good customer service with clients and visitors.
• Enters attorney/paralegal time into timekeeping system.
• Works with Finance to review and revise bills and finalize for client mailing.
• Other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a litigation assistant in a law firm or legal setting.
• Ability to work as a productive member of a team.
• Ability to multitask, especially under pressure, and manage a high volume of work efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. NetDocs experience a plus.
• Exceptional proofreading skills and the ability to apply grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Individuals must be detail oriented, dependable, and display good judgment.
• The ability to lift a minimum of ten pounds.

Salary

• $65,000 - $85,000/hour
