Duties Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive nationwide occupational safety program for the Federal Bureau of Prison. Responsible for the implementation of occupational safety laws, regulations, and standards by interpreting regulations, providing guidance, and developing policy with supporting information and tools. Assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of a comprehensive occupational safety inspection program that covers all areas, building, structures, operations, shop machinery, and mechanical processes to detail hazards in operational conditions. Provides guidance on addressing Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), ACA, ANSI, and Joint Commission (JC) regulations and requirements. Assists in the development of and provides national training programs for occupational safety compliance and OHSAS 18001 management systems. Provides expertise and technical assistance at the institutional, regional and national levels Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charge with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis. Salary- $105,383 - $137,000/year
