Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing bankruptcy pleadings and other relevant legal documents.
  • Assist attorneys in legal research on bankruptcy laws, regulations, and court procedures.
  • Analyze and review financial statements, asset collateral, and other related documents.
  • Prepare and organize exhibits, documents, and other evidence for hearings and trials.
  • Assist in the management of case files, including maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and court appearances.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, and motions under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with document production, including gathering and organizing relevant documents for discovery requests.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in bankruptcy laws, regulations, and court rules.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience with preparing Motions for Relief and Proof of Claims preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a legal assistant, preferably in a bankruptcy setting.
  • Strong knowledge of bankruptcy laws, regulations, and court procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and case management software.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
