Position Summary:
The Paralegal will support attorney(s) in preparing and organizing various legal documents for upcoming cases and trials. Their duties include preparing affidavits and correspondence, discussing case details with attorneys and clients and organizing files for legal proceedings.
Location & Commitments:
- Practice Area / Department: Construction
- Status: Full-time / Non-Exempt
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week.
- In-Office: Hybrid / In-Office: This position will report to work at our office in Maitland.
Responsibilities:
- Interact professionally and proficiently with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel and experts.
- Must be able to organize document production responses, review and analyze discovery response documents and manage the medical of a claim (including obtaining, and summarizing medical records and bills).
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
- Develop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Day-to-day case management duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Competencies:
- At least 2 years of experience handling insurance defense litigation cases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Proficient with various software programs.
- Preferred Programs: Worldox, Pacer, PDF conversion software, Westlaw/Lexis, and practice management software.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Must meet expectations for billing goals.
