Hawkins Parnell & Young, LLP's Dallas office seeks a highly-motivated litigation attorney with 5+ years of experience, preferably in defending personal injury cases with extensive knowledge of Texas law and procedure. The successful candidate must be capable of preparing a case for trial, second chairing some trials, and trying some cases on their own.
HPY offers a competitive salary plus potential quarterly bonuses, a yearend bonus and referral incentives. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing for trial, including strategy discussion, discovery, records review, client interviews and witness preparation
- Researching, both legal and factual investigation
- Drafting of briefs, memos, and client updates
- Attending depositions, hearings, and mediations
- Managing a caseload of litigated claims
Skills and Educational Requirements:
- Previous litigation experience required, including deposition and courtroom experience
- Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
- Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing demands and understand the importance of deadlines
- Has a client-focused mentality
- Takes initiatives and welcomes challenges
- Intellectually curious, keeping current on litigation trends and recent legal opinions
