- Description
The Investigator is responsible for collecting data/evidence from all available sources, taking photographs, statements, video and audio recordings and when necessary, conducting surveillance in locations throughout the state of Indiana. The Investigator will handle complaints and inquiries from the public and will need to manage a high-volume case load, which can include some criminal investigations. - Examples of Duties
- Collect data/evidence from available sources
- Take photographs, statements, video, and audio recordings
- Conduct surveillance in locations throughout Indiana when necessary
- Analyze documents
- Write thorough reports
- Perform filing and typing tasks
- Conduct research
- Travel, including occasional overnight travel
- Maintain flexibility
- Typical Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a criminal justice or business-related field
- May be required to attend and successfully complete the Specialized Investigator Training Course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy
- Must pass a thorough background investigation
- Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license
