The Staff Attorney reports to the Vice President of Legal Services. Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Legal Services, The Staff Attorney performs complex and responsible legal work for Chapters Health System, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Company”). S/he assists the Vice President of Legal Services in his capacity as counsel to the Company on a broad range of legal matters related to regulations, codes, licensure, leases, contracts, medical malpractice and other areas of risk to the Company. S/he is knowledgeable about health care, not-for-profit corporations and commercial/contract law.Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree; Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
• Active member of the Florida Bar Association in good standing
• Ability to make persuasive presentations to the General Counsel and Company officers and directors on legal matters, including controversial or complex topics
• Computer literate: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); online legal research; internet
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills with public speaking/presentation ability
• Intermittent Driver - Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy
• Self-motivated with strong goal orientation

Job Responsibilities:
• Provides comprehensive legal services to internal departments of the Company, as assigned by the Vice President of Legal Services.
• Reviews, analyzes, negotiates and prepares contracts and other legal documents related to the Company and its business.
• Assists in the management and monitoring of contracts, licenses and other legal documents maintained by the Company.
• Confers with and assists other departments within the Company in establishing departmental policies and procedures consistent with established legal principals and requirements.
• Prepares legal opinions on questions of law and procedure.
• Assists the Vice President of Legal Services and internal and external customers in a variety of activities, actions and projects.
- Assists the Vice President of Legal Services in the development of strategy relating to the Legal Services Department.
- Assists the Vice President of Legal Services in the establishment of internal operating practices for the Legal Services Department.
• Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations, especially in the areas of health law and corporate law.
• Confers with the Vice President of Legal Services on a regular basis to discuss current legal matters affecting the Company.
- Assist all Legal Services Department team members with other general support functions as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation Pay Range:
$106,962.49 - $167,128.89This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
