Job Title: AI Solutions Developer — Generative AI & Legal Process Automation - Legal Industry
Location: Remote or Hybrid (must reside within commuting distance of a firm office in the Greater Orlando Area)
Overview:
As an AI Solutions Developer, you will design and build intelligent applications that combine Generative AI, data engineering, and legal process innovation. Working within De Novo, you will collaborate with partners, practice-group leaders, and data engineers to transform bold ideas into real products — tools that make legal work faster, smarter, and more client-centric.
This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of innovation and delivery — moving seamlessly from concept to prototype to production. Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and deploy LLM-powered applications using platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and LangChain
- Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, prompt-management frameworks, and secure APIs
- Collaborate with practice-group leaders to develop solutions that enhance matter intake, document automation, and client collaboration
- Translate legal and operational workflows into clean, maintainable, production-ready code
- Partner with IT and Data teams to ensure scalability, governance, privacy, and security
- Contribute to team standards, documentation, and the evolution of De Novo’s AI engineering culture
- Mentor peers and help shape best-practice development patterns
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software development experience with strong skills in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or C#
- Azure AI / OpenAI / AWS Bedrock / Claude APIs
- Vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, or Azure AI Search
- RAG architectures
- Prompt engineering & model evaluation
- Proven ability to integrate AI into enterprise platforms, including:
- Microsoft 365
- NetDocuments
- 3E or similar systems
- Comfort operating in rapid-prototype, iterative development environments
- Strong communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for legal and business stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams
