The DG Project and Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for assisting legal counsel with matters relating to the company’s development, construction, operation and maintenance of distributed solar generation projects, including real property interests.
Perform assigned substantive legal work
Prepare drafts of documents including confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, construction services agreements, work orders, change orders, and other project-related agreements
Perform initial review of agreements received from third parties and assist counsel with their completion
Carefully follow instructions and proofread work before sending to internal or external parties
Assist counsel with Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts, including preparing exhibits and gathering information
Assist with requests for proposals (RFPs) and other procurement processes
Complete form real estate documents, including options, option memoranda, purchase and sale agreements, leases, lease memoranda, easements, assignments, surface waivers, notices of exercise, escrow letters, subordination agreements, and other real estate documents
Coordinate with landowners and other parties for the execution of real estate documents via telephone and written correspondence
Review deeds, estate, trust and corporate documents, title reports to verify title and identify issues, assist in clearing title exceptions
Assist with satisfying title requirements
Coordinate with title companies to obtain title reports and title documents in accordance with project time schedules
Review the land survey and site plans, and coordinate with engineering on needed revisions, as directed
Assist in the preparation of proforma title policies
Assist with contract compliance and preparing document summaries
Assist with the maintenance of Company documents
Answer questions on routine document requirements of the Company

Houston, Texas or Indianapolis, Indiana
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years in the corporate/finance area of a law firm or in-house legal services in a corporate environment
- Real Estate experience strongly encouraged
