This position is open only to current employees of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Applicants must serve and pass their six-month probation period in their current position in order to be eligible to apply.

Job Duties

MDT Meeting Coordination 

  • Coordinate and facilitate the case specific MDT meetings handling child special assault cases including, but not limited to, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and homicide. 
  • Compile and distribute a detailed weekly SAU multidisciplinary team (MDT) docket each Monday by reviewing the internal database and gathering updates from community partners. Develop a precise schedule and send calendar invites to all participants. 
  • Compile and organize the weekly CSEC multidisciplinary team (MDT) docket by reviewing meeting requests from community partners, then conducting in-depth research to identify current system involvement and active providers. Use this information to build the schedule and send targeted invitations to ensure all needed participants are at the table
  • Facilitate the weekly SAU MDT meeting and the CSEC MDT meeting with attentiveness and professionalism, managing multiple moving parts as participants rotate in and out. The facilitator must be able to guide focused, efficient discussions across systems (criminal legal, DCYF, medical, advocacy, etc. ) while maintaining a collaborative and solution-oriented tone 
  • Collaborate with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure that investigations and services are coordinated efficiently and expeditiously to ensure best outcomes for children 
  • Build and foster open and positive relationships with the multidisciplinary team including law enforcement, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, prosecuting attorneys, advocacy organizations and all relevant community partners while promoting best practices for child abuse investigation and treatment
  • Establish and maintain internal and external relationships, utilizing a high degree of diplomacy with ability to influence positions at all levels

Consultation for MDT partners

  • Provide consultation to MDT partners on topics related to child victims and witnesses to crime with an equity and social justice lens
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of child development, the impact of victimization and exposure to violence on children and available resources for children and families
  • Provide information to MDT partners on services for child victims and witnesses 
  • Advocate for better response for child victims and witnesses through consultation and regularly providing information and resources

Community Outreach 

  • Develop and implement a community outreach plan that identifies and builds relationships with community agencies, schools, and populations currently underserved by the CJCKC
  • Regularly meet with community partners to educate them about the CJCKC and the MDT model
  • Maintain quarterly updates to the MDT orientation manual 
  • Provide MDT partners with orientation to the CJCKC and the MDT model 
  • Provide one-time training’s as needed to community agencies on topics related to child abuse
  • Support the CJCKC team with the annual MDT Survey
  • Position requires strategic planning, tracking cases, reviewing relevant data to inform best practices for community outcomes, maintaining a database, and generating reports 

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings, committees and taskforces as needed
  • Actively participate in CJCKC sponsored trainings and events
  • Occasionally provide coverage for other CJCKC staff, including MDT Facilitation and Coordination
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and as business needs evolve and change

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • Strong technological proficiency, with the ability to navigate and manage multiple online case management systems and digital platforms simultaneously; experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom) required
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the multidisciplinary team model
  • Adaptability to work with diverse groups of people with diverging opinions
  • Social savvy to build relationships and trust with community partners

The Most Competitive Candidates Will Possess: 

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience related to child development, child abuse, the impact of trauma on children and the multidisciplinary team response to child abuse
  • Extensive knowledge of resources for child victims and witnesses in King County
  • Work experience in a variety of settings, including but not limited to child advocacy centers, prosecutor’s offices, medical and mental health settings, child protection, advocacy and others
  • Extensive experience working with child trafficking survivors and/or investigating child trafficking cases, with a strong understanding of the systems involved and the unique needs of these youth
  • 10+ years of experience in related field(s) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates a commitment to this subject matter and work
