JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Paralegal to join the Estates & Trusts practice group in our Pittsburgh office. This position will work closely with our attorneys on the full spectrum of clients. Some of the key anticipated responsibilities are listed below:
• Manage the lifecycle of active matters and cases. Monitor care progress and provide timely updates to attorneys.
• Compile and review records to develop case chronologies.
• Conduct research of case law and statutes., draft tables of authorities, and site check briefs.
• Assist with trial and client meeting preparation.
• Prepare general motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and other documents as requested.
• Respond to discovery requests.
• Complete electronic filings.
• Draft, review, and oversee the execution of estate planning documents with clients.
• Coordinate the probate of wills and preparation of estate administration filings. including Petition for Grant of Letters, Notices, Inventories.
• Prepare Federal Gift and Estate tax, Pennsylvania Inheritance tax and fiduciary income tax returns.
• Preparation of fiduciary accountings for estates, trusts, agency relationships and guardianships.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide status updates.
• Enter billable time into Aderant Timekeeping system.
• Coordinate with Legal Assistants for non-billable projects and work assignments.
• Offer assistance to other support staff as time allows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school or equivalent
• Paralegal certificate or related training or work experience
• Three (3) or more years of experience working as a Paralegal in a related area of law
• Experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and other software.
• Experience filing court documents, electronically preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Solid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing thoughtful and persuasive messaging
• Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset
• Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to supporting counsel.
• Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous work experience as a Legal Assistant
• Experience with Lackner, and Pro Series software
• Experience with Aderant Timekeeping system
• Experience with iManage document management system
• Active Notary license
