Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Core undergraduate program in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience, AND a minimum of four years combined work experience in any combination of the following\: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications, performing testing, debugging, and code review, and assisting with analysis and design, including 2 years technology related work experience. 

-OR 4 years exp. as a Software Developer 2; 

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Understands Agile development concepts

-Debt Manager- application configuration

-SQL Query writing and stored procedure creation for MS SQL server

-Kettle and ETL processing

-Familiarity with Service Now, ALM Octane, and SharePoint

-Powershell

    The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking experienced individuals for two open Application Configuration and Support Specialist's in the Information Technology Services Section. The successful candidates possesses a considerable amount of technical knowledge of program and application development, the ability to perform systems analysis, recommends application solutions and/or tests, corrects and implements application configuration changes, and creating and maintaining documentation. These positions will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is 30 E. Broad St., Columbus. 

    The successful candidates will perform the following duties, which include but are not limited to:

    Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to application code and components, including bugs, performance problems, and integration issues.
    • Provide support for end-users and internal teams by addressing and resolving application-related problems.

    Subject Matter Expertise:

    • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for application configuration and behavior, providing guidance and insight into how configurations affect application performance and functionality.
    • Stay updated on application updates, new features, and best practices to provide informed support and recommendations.
    • Ability to impart knowledge in verbal and written communication

    Collaboration with Development and QA Teams:

    • Partner with developers to understand application functionality and assist in identifying and fixing configuration issues.
    • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure that application configurations meet quality standards and that configurations are tested thoroughly.

    Configuration Management:

    • Manage and deploy configuration settings for applications to ensure optimal performance and compliance with organizational standards.
    • Maintain configuration documentation and ensure that configurations are consistently applied across environments.

    Deployment and Implementation:

    • Oversee the deployment of configuration changes to various environments (e.g., development, testing, production) ensuring minimal disruption to users and operations.
    • Coordinate with other teams to schedule and manage the rollout of new configurations or updates.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Create and maintain detailed documentation related to application configurations, including change logs, setup procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Generate reports on configuration status, issue resolution, and application performance as needed.

    Training and Knowledge Sharing:

    • Provide training and support to other team members or end-users on configuration-related topics and best practices.
    • Share knowledge and insights about configuration management tools and techniques.
