Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of tax experience in a multinational law firm, public accounting, government, or in-house tax department setting.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, structuring, and the taxation of cross-border transactions, including knowledge of CFC regimes, foreign tax credit regulations, and withholding tax rules.
- Ability to operate in a fluid environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent research and project management skills.

The International Tax Planning and Policy team is a group of tax planning professionals who manage a variety of tax technical matters for Alphabet and Google, helping accelerate business objectives while navigating impactful global tax issues.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Analyze business plans to determine tax impacts of various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate reorganizations.
- Partner with other tax specialists and cross-functional teams for transaction implementation.
- Manage policies and technical requirements for customers withholding taxes and alignment with company foreign tax credit positions, and coordinate with operations teams on withholding tax compliance.
- Stay up to date with latest tax developments, legislative and regulatory changes and provision implications, and draft memoranda and other communications to provide briefings on key tax issues to management and other tax specialists.
